Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Alaa El-Din Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Board, and under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Dr. Assem El-Shazly, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Khamis, Vice President of the University, El Saleheya El Gadida University concluded the events of the “Grand Chess Championship” for the 2025/2026 academic year. The tournament was organized by the General Administration of Youth Welfare at the University, led by Mr. Mamdouh Othman.

This championship comes as part of the university’s strategy to promote student activities that develop analytical thinking and strategic planning skills. Chess is not merely a game; it is a practice in decision-making and intelligent management of challenges.

The final rounds resulted in student Pavli Sami Saeed winning first place, followed by student Mostafa Mahmoud Saeed in second place, while student Ahmed Saeed Abdel Aleem secured third place.

In the female students’ competition, student Jomana Mohamed Abdel Hamid won first place, followed by student Aya Ahmed Marghany in second place, and student Menatallah Adel Abdel Moneim in third place.

In this context, the university administration emphasized that mind sports represent a fundamental pillar in building students’ awareness. It praised the high level of organization of the البطولة and the sportsmanship displayed among participants. The administration also highlighted that supporting talented students is a top priority, paving the way for participation in national-level competitions among Egyptian universities.
