El Saleheya El Gadida University celebrates the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week.
In line with its pioneering role in serving the community and enhancing public health awareness, El Saleheya El Gadida University celebrated the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Assem El-Shazly, President of the University, and the general supervision of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Khamis, Vice President of the University.
The event was carried out with direct academic supervision from the Faculty of Pharmacy, represented by Professor Dr. Atef Abdel-Baqi, Dean of the Faculty; Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aal, Vice Dean; Dr. Mohamed Salah and Dr. Mohamed Ramadan, Assistant Professors of Microbiology and Immunology; along with Dr. Nada Salah, Teaching Assistant in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
The scientific day was organized as part of the academic and community activities of the Medical Microbiology and Pharmaceutical Microbiology courses, with distinguished participation from third- and fourth-year students of the Microbiology and Immunology Department.
The university administration emphasized that promoting a culture of rational antibiotic use and reducing infection transmission constitutes a fundamental pillar of its strategic vision to improve the quality of healthcare and combat the spread of resistant microbial strains.
The scientific day included a variety of interactive activities, such as:
• Simplified workshops explaining bacterial resistance mechanisms and infection transmission routes.
• Interactive presentations and scientific posters on proper antibiotic use and preventive measures.
• Innovative awareness booths fully designed by the students, which were praised by attendees for their role in presenting scientific information in an engaging and accessible way.
The university affirms the continuity of such awareness initiatives as an integral part of its mission and continues to work toward graduating a generation capable of applying knowledge to achieve a positive and sustainable qualitative shift in the national healthcare sector.
