Under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Alaa El-Din Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Board, with the close follow-up of Prof. Dr. Assem El-Shazly, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Khamis, Vice President of the University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Atef Abdel Baky, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the faculty organized a scientific field visit to MUPCO Pharmaceutical Industries Company in coordination with Dr. Amr Kotb, Lecturer of Pharmacognosy at the faculty.
Prior to the departure of the delegation, Prof. Dr. Assem El-Shazly, President of the University, was keen to meet the students and emphasize the importance of such field visits, stressing their vital role in developing practical experience and linking academic curricula with the real requirements of the labor market.
The university delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Mokhtar Ali Bashir, General Manager of the Factories, Eng. Maher El-Yamani, Quality Management Director, and Eng. Karim Abdel Moneim, Head of the Extracts Unit. They accompanied the students on an extensive tour throughout the factory and provided a comprehensive explanation of the manufacturing stages and advanced operational mechanisms.
The student delegation was accompanied by faculty members and teaching assistants, including Dr. Amr Kotb and Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Magd, who made distinguished efforts to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application directly in front of the production lines and various manufacturing departments. This contributed significantly to enhancing the students’ understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing mechanisms, quality control stages, packaging, and storage in accordance with the latest international standards followed by major pharmaceutical facilities.
It is worth mentioning that the visit was conducted under the executive supervision of the University’s General Administration of Youth Welfare, led by Mr. Mamdouh Othman, Director General of the Administration, and Mr. Abdullah Abdel Aal, Director of Youth Welfare at the faculty, who accompanied the delegation to organize the event and provide full logistical support to the students throughout the visit.
This visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to closely explore the real work environment and acquire field skills that directly contribute to refining their professional character and preparing them with distinction for their future careers after graduation.
