As part of Elsaleheya Elgadida University’s commitment to supporting scientific research and strengthening academic collaboration with Egyptian universities, Professor Assem El-Shazly, President of Elsaleheya Elgadida University and Professor of Pharmacognosy, participated in the First International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Zagazig University, held under the theme “Research Meets Market Needs.” This participation reflects the University’s strategic vision of promoting applied scientific research and fostering integration between academic institutions and the pharmaceutical industry.

The conference brought together distinguished leaders in higher education and scientific research, including Professor Khaled El-Daranadly, President of Zagazig University; Professor Maher El-Demiaty, Member of the Supreme Committee of Higher Education Sector Committees and Chairman of the Pharmacy Studies Sector Committee; in addition to a number of deans, pharmacy professors, and researchers from universities across Egypt.

The conference also witnessed broad participation from prominent leaders in Egypt’s pharmaceutical industry, including Dr. Gamal El-Laithy, Chairman and Managing Director of FPI and Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Chamber at the Federation of Egyptian Industries; Dr. Mohie Hafez, Chairman of the Medical Industries Export Council, Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, and CEO of Pioneer Pharmaceutical Industries; and Dr. Essam Aboul Fotouh, Head of the Sharqia Pharmacists Syndicate, alongside several CEOs of leading national and international pharmaceutical companies.

During his participation, Professor Assem El-Shazly praised the efforts made to align research outcomes with market needs, emphasizing that Elsaleheya Elgadida University places great importance on strengthening cooperation with academic and research institutions. He noted that the University is committed to preparing highly qualified pharmacy professionals capable of innovation and global competitiveness while developing innovative pharmaceutical solutions that contribute to the national economy and enhance the quality of healthcare services. He also highlighted the importance of these efforts in light of Egypt’s national strategy to localize the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
