Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Alaa El-Din Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Board, and under the direct guidance of Prof. Dr. Assem El-Shazly, Acting President of the University, and the supervision of Mr. Magdy Abdelaziz, Secretary-General of the University, the General Administration of Youth Welfare at El-Salhia El-Gedida University organized a special seminar entitled “Unforgettable Glory: The Spirit of October and Nation Building”, in celebration of the glorious anniversary of the October Victory.
The seminar came as part of the university’s commitment to instilling national spirit in students and reviving the legacy of the heroes who achieved the great victory.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Assem El-Shazly, Acting President of the University, affirmed that the October Victory will forever remain a beacon that lights the way for generations and a timeless example of the indomitable Egyptian will. He emphasized that organizing such seminars reflects the university’s dedication to spreading national awareness and sustaining the spirit of October in development and progress.
Distinguished guests shared stories of heroism and sacrifice written by the Egyptian Armed Forces during the October 1973 War.
Major General Abdullah Mohamed Salem, one of the war heroes, stated that the victory was a model of precise military planning and an unbreakable will, highlighting themes of strategy, bravery, and genuine patriotism.
Sheikh Issa Al-Kharafin, Chief of the Tribes of North Sinai, emphasized the vital national role of the people of Sinai as the first line of defense in reclaiming land and dignity, recounting their heroic acts and their support for the Egyptian army during the war.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Suleiman Al-Bayadi, Professor of Islamic History at Arish University, explained that the strategic genius behind the October War deserves to be studied by future generations as an example of turning the impossible into reality.
Engineer Major General Tarek Gamal El-Din, Head of the New Salhia City Authority, discussed how the spirit of October has been transformed into developmental and urban projects in the new-generation cities.
The seminar also featured a short documentary film titled “The Glorious October Epic”, showcasing the moments of crossing the Suez Canal and breaching the Bar Lev Line.
The event concluded with a ceremonial honoring of the distinguished guests in appreciation of their contributions.
